FEDERAL COURT PRACTICE: Mr. Tacconelli focuses his litigation practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware exclusively on commercial disputes.  Mr. Tacconelli focuses his bankruptcy practice in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware exclusively on representing unsecured and secured creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases. In particular, Mr. Tacconelli has prosecuted and defended a large number of preference lawsuits in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court.  Mr. Tacconelli has also represented Official Committees, Chapter 7 Trustees, Plan Administrators and Liquidating Plan Trustees in various bankruptcy cases in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court.

STATE COURT PRACTICE: Mr. Tacconelli focuses his litigation practice in the Delaware State law courts exclusively on commercial disputes.  In particular, Mr. Tacconelli has prosecuted numerous Mechanic’s Lien claims and construction bond claims in all counties in Delaware.

Rick S. Miller, Esquire

Rick S. Miller, Esquire // Director

Mr. Miller was born in Easton, Pennsylvania.  Mr. Miller’s collegiate honors include Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa.  Mr. Miller was a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps and Theta Chi Fraternity.  Before law school, Mr. Miller served on active duty for four years as an infantry officer in the United States Army.  He deployed in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm with the 24th Infantry Division.  In law school, he was on the staff of the Delaware Journal of Corporate law and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.  He also held a Wolcott Fellowship with Justice Carolyn Berger of the Supreme Court of Delaware.  Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Miller was Law Clerk to Judge Susan C. Larry D. Sullivan, Esquire

Mr. Sullivan was born in Anchorage, Alaska.  He has lived in Delaware since 1965, attending: Dover High School; the University of Delaware; and Delaware Law School (now known as Widener University School of Law).  Mr. Sullivan served as a Military Policeman for the United States Army in between college and law school.  Mr. Sullivan served as the Clerk of the Court for New Castle County Family Court for two years following law school, and then as a Staff Attorney for New Castle County Superior Court for two years.

Mr. Sullivan joined Ferry Joseph in 2008, prior to which he conducted a solo practice of law for 16 years. Mr. Sullivan served a four year term as a Judge of Newark Alderman’s Court and still maintains an office in Newark around the corner from the Newark Court.  His practice consists primarily of Estate Planning; Estate Administration; and Corporate Formation and Documentation.  Mr. Sullivan has testified as an expert witness on Delaware Corporate Law regarding Series Limited Liability Companies. Among the examples of reduced fee legal representation, Mr. Sullivan has defended many thousands of patients at the Delaware Psychiatric Center.  Recently, Mr. Sullivan established and serves on the Board of CSO, Inc., a disaster relief not-for-profit community service organization in Saint Georges, Delaware, and dedicates a substantial amount of his time towards helping to prepare the region’s readiness for disasters and emergencies of all kinds.

Kristopher T. Starr, Esquire

Mr. Starr received his JD, cum laude, from Widener Law (Phi Delta Phi-Harrington Inn-Honor Chapter) and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nursing (Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society) from the University of Delaware. During law school, Starr served as a summer legal intern for U.S. Attorney (now Chief District Judge) Gregory Sleet in Wilmington and then as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sue L. Robinson in the United States District Court. After law school, Mr. Starr’s legal career started at the Wilmington law firm of Maron & Marvel. Mr. Starr then practiced in various government legal capacities, first as Deputy Attorney General, then as hearing officer for the state Industrial Accident Board and Office of Workers’ Compensation.

Kristopher T. Starr, Esquire

Most recently, Mr. Starr served as Risk Manager and Assistant County Attorney for New Castle County Government where he was responsible for all County insurance programs. Mr. Starr also defended New Castle County in insurance litigation concentrating on Workers’ Compensation defense. Starr has served as attorney ad litem and neutral attorney fact finder in several hundred cases on appointment by the Court of Chancery in the areas of guardianship, trust, estate, and elder law.

In addition to his legal career, Mr. Starr is a faculty member of the School of Nursing at the University of Delaware, where he teaches in the area of health services administration and organizational governance.  A life member of the Hockessin Fire Company, Mr. Starr practices as a staff RN in the ED/Trauma Center at Christiana Care – Christiana Hospital.  Mr. Starr is licensed to practice law in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey as well as the Federal District Courts of Delaware and New Jersey, the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Gaspero was born in Chester, Pennsylvania and spent the majority of his life in Delaware County.  In 2012, Mr. Gaspero moved to North Wilmington with his wife and daughter.  However, he is not a stranger to Delaware having attended Salesianum High School.  Mr. Gaspero graduated from St. Joseph's University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2001.  He was involved with the Cap & Bells Dramatic Arts Society at St. Joe's and was the managing director of theater in his junior and senior year at the university.  Following graduation, Mr. Gaspero spent a year as a juvenile probation officer for Delaware County in the City of Chester.  After witnessing first hand the inherent problems relating to the crime and poverty of the area, he decided to pursue a law degree at Temple University and received his Juris Doctor in 2005.

Shortly after graduating from Temple, Mr. Gaspero joined a Delaware County law firm as an associate and for over 7 years worked on a variety of civil matters including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, landlord/tenant, breach of contract, complex corporate litigation matters involving fraud, usurpation of corporate opportunity, civil conspiracy and shareholder derivative suits.   Mr. Gaspero has also worked on a variety of criminal defense matters, including DUIs, drug offenses, assaults and burglary cases and domestic relations matters, including divorce, child support, spousal support and custody.  Mr. Gaspero joined FJ as an associate in 2012.
